Questions and Answers about Pellet Stoves and Inserts

The frequency of cleaning is dependent on your frequency of use and the ash content of the pellets being used. High quality fuel will prolong the interval between cleanings. Typically pellet stoves need cleaning every 4-6 weeks including cleaning the inner firebox, the heat exchanger, the hopper and the ash pan. It is best to start at the top of the firebox and work your way down.  The cleaner the stove the better the heat transfer and efficiency. Regency pellet units come with a large ash pan; however ash content produced is greatly dependent on the quality of pellets you use in your Regency Greenfire stove / insert.
