One Regency, One Tree - For every Regency, Hampton or Excalibur sold, we plant a tree. Why plant trees? Trees keep our planet cool and our air clean. They take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen: the more there are, the less carbon dioxide there is, reducing global warming. Working with American Forests, the trees planted across North America offset carbon emissions and take one more step to restore nature's balance. An industry first, Regency has planted tens of thousands of trees globally in areas damaged by natural and human causes. All consumer advertising flyers since January 2008 (used by our dealer network) are printed on 90-100% recycled paper. We print approximately ten million flyers annually. Using recycled paper saves over 1,800 trees from being deforested and prevents over 370,000 lbs of greenhouse gas emissions from being produced every year.
Our brochures are printed on paper secured from proper forest management materials and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products carrying the FSC label are certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
Regency strives to be a zero waste facility; we recycle a number of goods in our offices and manufacturing plants. Annually, we recycle and reuse many materials, such as:
- Cardboard
- Wood
- Steel (coated, uncoated and aluminum)
- Steel dust
- Paper
- Cans and bottles (glass, plastic and metal)
These items are reprocessed and reused, preventing them from ending up in landfills.
We also package all our products in biodegradable foam bags that mold to each product we box, rather than using Styrofoam or packing peanuts. This creates tight, versatile packaging that is safe for the environment.
Regency maintains a close relationship with its dealer network, and has brought its regular communications to the digital era. We no longer send weekly faxes and/or printed mail to our retailers; we relay messages via email and dealer websites. Digital communications save an immeasurable amount of paper from being used and ending up in waste. |
