This notice applies to all Regency brand U39 & U37 gas stoves sold between January 2001 and January 2018.
What is the reason for this notice?
As a family oriented company and world leading manufacturer of high quality hearth products, nothing is more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of our customers. Regency upholds the highest standards for product quality and safety, which is why we have decided to voluntarily recall and retrofit all U39 & U37 gas stoves sold between January 2001 and January 2018. This decision was made immediately and out of an abundance of caution as soon as we discovered an issue with the pressure release mechanism at the back of the firebox which, under certain conditions during a delayed ignition, can result in front door glass fracture causing glass to expel forward. No serious injuries have been reported and no other products manufactured by Regency are impacted. Regency’s remedy to this situation has been tested by an independent testing authority. In addition, both Health Canada and the U.S. have been apprised of the proposed retrofit. CPSC have given approval to start distribution of the retrofit kits.
What should you do?

Registration can also be completed by phone: 1-866-867-4328 (toll-free). If you need help to find the serial number of your unit click here.
When will you retrofit my stove?
The parts needed to conduct this recall will become available mid to late Spring 2018. Once you have registered, a Regency dealer will contact you as soon as your parts are ready to schedule a complimentary in home service appointment to inspect and retrofit your unit. Regency dealers are committed to servicing all recalled units, but it will take some time to visit all impacted customers. For reasons of health and safety, Regency will prioritize initial parts allocation to dealers located in regions experiencing harsh winter weather.
